Uzi & Ariの中心人物であった、Ben Shepardのソロプロジェクト “YEYEY”（イー・イー）が遂に始動！バンド編成から一変し、アンビエント・エレクトロポップな展開をみせる。ボーカル・ギター・ピアノ・ビブラフォ ンなど多種多様な演奏を一人で行い、シンセサウンドをベースに大胆なストリングスを取り入れた。また、プログラミングも自身で手がけ、マルチな才 能を発揮している。Uzi & Ariでは過去6枚のアルバムをリリースし、2009年にはFriend of Mine 初の海外招聘バンドとして、東京・大阪・京都・名古屋の5公演ツアーを行った。曲ごとにパートチェンジする演奏スタイルと、その完成度の高いパフォーマン スでオーディエンスを魅了した。今作にはM83、Mercury Rev、White Sea、 Gregor Samsaといった彼の才能に惚れ込んだメンバーが全面的に参加しデビューアルバムに華を添えている。彼がUzi & Ariとしての活動に終止符を打ってまで創めたYEYEYは、さらに才能を開花させるべく新たなるフィールドでの活躍が期待される。

After six full length albums, five international tours and three years since an official release, Ben Shepard returns with a new full-length record, fully metomorphosed as YEYEY (pronounced yeeyee),the moniker he has taken since disbanding his previous project Uzi & Ari in 2013. After relocating to Brooklyn in 2010, Shepard assembled a dream team of players, singers, (and dancers!) to record and present the record, entitled ‘The Vision,’ which features contributions from members of Mercury Rev, M83, White Sea, and Gregor Samsa, to name a few.
